Sloppy Rey’s (Classic Homemade Sloppy Joe)

Sloppy Rey’s takes that classic sloppy joe comfort and gives it the Reynaldo’s Cocina treatment — rich savory beef piled onto a soft toasted bun for the kind of dinner that feels simple, messy, and exactly right. Built for hungry nights, family plates, and comfort food that doesn’t need to act fancy.

Why This Recipe Works

Classic Sloppy Joes should be rich but not soupy.

This version keeps the filling thick enough to stay inside the bun while still giving that messy first bite.

Savory beef, onion, garlic, tomato richness, and a little sweetness all come together fast.

Flavor Notes

Savory.

Slight sweetness.

Tomato-forward.

Buttery toasted bun.

Classic comfort food energy.
