  4. Cook the penne pasta until al dente.
  5. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining the pasta.
  6. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat.
  7. Cook the salmon for 4 to 5 minutes on the first side and 2 to 3 minutes on the second side until browned and cooked through.
  8. Remove the salmon from the skillet and allow it to rest.
  9. Reduce the heat to medium.

  13. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a light simmer.

  16. Adjust the consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.

  18. Plate the creamy penne Alfredo.
  19. Top with Monterey style salmon.
  20. Finish with chopped parsley and lemon slices before serving.

Notes

• Cook the salmon separately so the exterior stays flavorful and maintains its texture.
• Reserve pasta water before draining to help loosen the Alfredo sauce naturally.
• Add Parmesan gradually for a smoother sauce.
• Fresh lemon added at the end helps balance the richness of the Alfredo.
• Fresh herbs are best added as a finishing touch rather than cooked into the sauce.
